This fabulous Curved Borders 2 die set from Spellbinders can be used in so many different ways to add beautiful curved edges and detailing to your hand made cards. The set of six dies has four edge cutting dies and two decorative insert dies, each of the dies can be used on it's own or they can be used in combination to produce stunning results. At 15.2cm the dies are wide enough for most card fronts.
Edge Die 1
This cuts a simple, curved edge, use it to create shapes or for hills or as in this example a gap to place your sentiment.
Edge Dies 2 and 3
These both have a plain cut line one with a dotted edge, and the other with a stitched edge to add a little bit more detail.
In this new home card, the stitched edge die has been used to cut the green card to make the hillsides, so that they match the stitching detail on the stamped house.
Edge Die 4
Edge die 4 cuts a scalloped edge with a dotted line, to create a more decorative edge which looks great when cut in contrasting colours of card. The curve of the die cut edge creates the perfect position for the circular die cut card topper. The scalloped and dotted edge add extra detail to the plain coloured card. In the second card the same die is used on the diagonal to create a corner area of patterned paper.
Decorative Inserts 1 and 2
These two dies don't have a long cut line, they are designed to either cut into a piece of card or be used with one of the other dies to create a more elaborate cut border.
In the first card the insert die has been used on it's own to die cut a decorative curved strip into the card, contrasting card underneath allows the delicate design of the insert die to show clearly. For the second card the plain edge die and the insert die were taped together to cut the cream card in half and create the insert pattern, the plain half of the card was then run through again with the insert die positioned close to the edge so the design is mirrored on either side of the card.
In the final example one of the insert dies has been used with the scalloped edge die, again taped together and run through once to produce an elaborate, vertical edge for this gatefold birthday card, to match the vintage style of the card.
A truly versatile set of dies that can be used on cards for all occasions and all styles.
