Hi, here’s a lovely Mothers Day card, with a die cut arch decorated with flowers and leaves and a sweet die cut bird. The card is nice and easy to make, the longest job was deciding on the colour scheme.

To Make The Card

You can probably tell from the photo that this is a pretty easy card to make. I would suggest that choosing your colour scheme first makes life easier still. Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it to 12.5cm x 17.5cm to make the cutting of the layers easier. Cut a piece of dark yellow card to 12cm x 17cm, ink around the outside edges with a dark yellow ink. Die cut a 7.8cm x 10.8cm arch from the centre of the yellow card. Cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the yellow. Slide it under the yellow card and position the Happy Mother’s Day stamp. Remove the yellow card and stamp the sentiment in black ink. Adhere the white stamped piece behind the yellow card, then adhere to the card front.

Die cut the pieces for the bird and glue them together. Cut a selection of flowers and leaves and use them to create an arrangement around the bottom left and top right areas of the arch, make sure that the sentiment doesn’t get covered up. Glue all the flowers and leaves in place. Position the bird so it looks like it is standing among the flowers and foliage and glue in place as well. Finish off with different sizes of clear, adhesive dew drops in and amongst the flowers and leaves.

I think this is a pretty card, the little bird just adds something extra and the aperture being arch shaped is a pleasant change for circles and squares. Thank you for your interest, I hope you like the card too. If you would like to make it yourself, all the products used are linked below.
