Santa Martini Glass Hand Made Christmas Card

Hi, I love the Olive Martini die set from Spellbinders and have been itching to use it. I have combined it with the Christmas Cocktail Decorations die set for this card for a splendid result.

Hi, I love the Olive Martini die set from Spellbinders and have been itching to use it. I have combined it with the Christmas Cocktail Decorations die set for this card for a splendid result. There are lots more pieces to both sets giving you almost unlimited variety in the theme and design of cards to make.

Hand made Christmas card with inked and embossed background and die cut martini glass decorated with Santa belt and hat, bow and holly.

To Make The Card

I felt this would work better as an A6 top fold card so cut and scored a piece of white card 10.5cm x 29.5cm to create the base. Cut another piece of white card 10.5cm x 14.75cm and blend red ink up from the bottom gradually fading it out towards the top. Emboss with a diagonal stripe embossing folder, then scatter embossing sprinkles all over it and heat from underneath to melt them. Adhere this background panel to the card front.

Die cut all the elements for the martini glass and decorations. Use white card for the glass, and red and white for the straw and Santa hat. Cut the belt from black card and the buckle from gold mirror card. Cut both parts of the bow twice from red and gold mirror card and glue them together, slightly offset to create a two tone effect. Cut two lots of holly leaves from green card and berries from red and cut the contents of the glass from red card. Trim down the straw to the required length, then glue everything in place as shown in the photograph. Finally trim the Christmas Wishes sentiment from the sheet, run around the edges with a black marker pen to hide the white and glue to the top part of the card.

I think this is a fun card, with bright festive colours and plenty of detail, I am very happy with the way it turned out. I have plans for an Espresso Martini birthday card using the same die set so watch this space. In the meantime if you want to try it for yourself, all the products used are linked below. Thanks for reading.
