Hi, here’s another Christmas card using the Holiday Floral Swag embossing folder. I really like this folder as it is so versatile, for this card I have only used part of the design to create an embossed border around three quarters of the card front. This also creates a perch for the cute little robin.

To Make The Card

The card size was decided by the size of the rectangle die used to cut the red layer. This measures 10.5cm x 14.5cm, so I trimmed a white blank 5″ x 7″ card to 11cm x 15cm for the base and then added the red die cut layer. Cut a piece of green card to 10cm x 14cm and emboss with the Holiday Floral Swag embossing folder, positioning the card in the folder so that the bow is at the bottom of the card and the flat area is to the top right of the card. Run this through your machine then, with a foam ink blending tool, gently swipe over the raised areas with white ink. This helps to highlight the design and also gives a snowy impression.

Die cut the robin components from brown and red card, with black for the eye and gold or yellow for the beak. Assemble the robin, add a drop of glossy accents to the eye to make it shiny and glue in place. Use thin adhesive foam pads to adhere the robin just to the right of the bow. Finally hot foil the sentiment onto the same green card as the embossed layer. Die cut the sentiment with the matching die and glue in place in the flat area of the background. I think this is a lovely card in festive colours and the robin is very cute. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too. All the products used are linked below.
