Hi, I wanted to keep this card fairly simple to show off the beautiful design of the embossing folder. With just two colours and very little decoration I think I have managed to achieve that.
To Make The Card
Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it down slightly to 12.5cm x 17.5cm. Cut a piece of matt gold card the same size as the card front and glue in place. Cut a piece of dark red card 12cm x 17cm and emboss. Use ink the same colour as the embossed panel and with a foam ink blending tool swipe it all over the raised areas of the design. Smoosh a little bit of black ink on to a craft mat and pick up a tiny bit on the foam blending tool. Go over the raised areas again so that small amounts of black blend in with the red and help to add even more dimension to the raised areas. You only need to put a tiny bit of black on the foam pad then rub it on your craft mat to blend it into the foam before applying to the embossed design. The effect is quite subtle and unfortunately just looks like shadowed areas on the photograph.
Hot foil the sentiment in gold onto the same red card and die cut with the co-ordinating die. Cut four small poinsettias and layer them to make two flowers, add a gold pearl to the centre of each one. Die cut four leaves from mat gold card. Glue the sentiment in place in the flat area. Add a poinsettia with two leaves above and below the sentiment, use thin foam pads so that the petals sit above the sentiment. Finish off with some more gold pearls around the sentiment and flowers.
