Hi, yes it’s that time of year again, the first Christmas card of 2024. What better place to start than the newly released Vault Seasonal Sketch die set from Tim Holtz. I loved the Seasonal Sketch set when it was released first time so I was delighted to see it being brought back and combined with a set of alphabet and number dies, all you need to make fabulous Christmas cards.
To Make The Card
Start with a 5″ x 7″ white blank card and trim it down to 16.5cm x 12.5cm, so that it is the correct size for the die cut layer. Add a layer of matt gold card 16cm x 12cm, then die cut a 15.5cm x 11.5cm cream layer with the striped edge rectangles die set. Adhere both layers to the card front.
From the matt gold card cut the letters for the “Merry and Bright” wording and the outlines for the poinsettia and two holly sprigs. Cut the solid poinsettia from red card and the solid holly sprigs from green card. Glue the holly and poinsettia parts together.
Glue the lettering to the card front in three rows. I used a ruler to make sure the bottom of each letter lined up. Glue the holly sprigs in position, to the right of the lettering. Use a thin foam pad to adhere the poinsettia so that it sits above the holly leaves where they overlap and so that only the centre is stuck down. Finish off with some gold adhesive crystals.
This is an easy card to get into the Christmas spirit, but I am very pleased with the results. I know you will be seeing more of this die set in the coming weeks. I hope you like it too, thank you for visiting, if you want to try it for yourself, all the products used are listed below.
