Hi these stamped and die cut monkeys were too good to resist for this bright and cheerful, summery birthday card. The Leafy embossing folder provides the perfect backdrop for a jungle theme.
To Make The Card
Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it to 12cm x 17cm, just to make it easier to measure and cut the layers. Add a layer of yellow card 11.5cm x 16.5cm. Cut a piece of bright green card 11cm x 16cm, emboss it with the Leafy embossing folder and adhere over the yellow layer.
Stamp the two monkeys on white card with black ink, die cut them with the coordinating dies, and colour with marker pens or pencils. Die cut a pocket from white card and a selection of flowers and leaves from pink, yellow and green card.
Adhere the pocket to the centre of the card using thin adhesive foam pads, make sure to leave a gap where you want to slot one of the monkeys in. Add some glue to the back of the front facing monkey, and slide him into the pocket up to his waist, leave his hands unglued. Loop the tail of the hanging monkey over the edge of the pocket and under the lower hand of the other monkey, then glue his body to the pocket. His hands should hang below the bottom edge of the pocket. Arrange and adhere the flowers and leaves in the corners of the pocket. Cut the sentiment from a ready printed sheet, hand cut the pennant ends and adhere to the card with thin foam pads, slightly under the hands of the hanging monkey so that he looks like he is holding it.
That’s it! I chose strong colour to emphasise the summer theme, but it would work just as well with lighter colours. I think it would be a great card for a child or an adult. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card. All of the products used are linked below.
