Hi, nothing says summer quite like ripe juicy strawberries, so they were the ideal choice for this bright and colourful birthday card. The envelope flap is embossed with the same design as the card background for a little something extra.
To Make The Card
Start with a 6″ x 6″ blank card, trim this slightly so that it is 14.5cm square when folded. Cut a layer of white card 14cm square, emboss with the chosen design and adhere to the card front. Slide the flap of a matching envelope inside the embossing folder with the rest of the envelope underneath and run through your machine. Use the Petite Picot Squares die set to cut a decorative square from white card, and adhere it to the centre of the card.
Die cut one large and two smaller strawberries from red card, and two sets of leaves, the strawberry caps and backs from green card, plus an extra pair of leaves. Assemble the strawberries and glue the pieces together. Cut two flowers and two smaller flowers from white card, along with yellow centres for each flower, glue the centres to the flowers.
Cut the banner from red card, stamp the sentiment with clear ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Glue the sentiment banner across the bottom part of the die cut square, then arrange the strawberries, leaves and flowers above the banner, with the pair of leaves and a single flower below the banner. Finish off with a few clear adhesive dew drops.
There are four sentiment stamps in the set with the banner die, so you could use any of those instead. I think the clear dew drops add a really fresh feel to the card, which is already very bright and summery and the matching envelope finishes it off perfectly.
