Luxe Embossed Flower Border Birthday Card With Hot Foil Sentiment

Hi, All the hard work on this card is done by the lovely Spellbinders Luxe Backdrop Border embossing folder and die set. I used the border embossing folder with the die to create the lovely raised floral design, and then coloured it with marker pens. I think the effect is lovely.

To Make The Card

Start with a white A6 blank card and trim the long side to 13.8cm, cover the whole front with bright pink card. Cut a piece of white card 13.8cm by approximately 9cm. Run this through your die cutting machine with the Luxe border embossing folder and die so that it embosses and cuts the fancy edge at the same time. Colour the raised areas of the embossed panel with marker pens or whichever colouring medium you prefer. Cut a piece of matt gold card 13.8cm by approximately 9cm and use the die to cut the same fancy edge along the long side. Adhere the embossed panel over the gold panel so that approximately 3mm of the gold is showing below the fancy edge. Trim the long straight edge to create a 5mm gold border. Adhere all of this to the card front leaving a 5mm pink border at the top.

To create the sentiment use a hot foil stamp and gold foil to foil and deboss the Happy Birthday message on white card, then cut it with the small banner die from the same set. Glue this in place below the embossed panel.

I love this card, I think the combination of the bright colours and the gold is fab. It took a little while to colour the embossed panel, but the rest of the card is pretty quick to make up for it. Thank you for your visit, I hope you like it too. All the products used are linked below.
