This is a great card for anyone with a keen interest in computing and computer engineering etc. Obviously you can change the colour scheme to suit your own requirements. This card would also work well as a Fathers Day card, with a suitable sentiment added.
To Make The Card
I particularly wanted to use the die cut rectangle with small holes for the backing layer, as I felt it worked well with the circular dots on the embossed design and the circle cut out on the sentiment strip. To use this die dictated the size of the card. Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it down to 12cm x 16cm. Cut a piece of brown card 11.7cm x 15.7cm. Die cut the small holes rectangle from matt gold card using the 11.5cm x 15.5cm die. Adhere the gold layer over the brown and then glue them to the card front. These measurements will give tiny margins of brown and white behind the gold layer. You can, of course increase them if you wish.
Cut a piece of dark teal card, 10.7cm x 14.7cm and emboss it with the Circuit Board embossing folder. Ink over the raised areas ofd the embossed piece with a brown ink pad, then dry the ink with a heat gun. Ink over the raised areas again, this time with a gold ink pad, and more lightly so only the very tops of everything are inked. Dry the gold ink with a heat gun, then adhere the panel to the card front.
To finish off, die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment from matt gold card. Adhere it to the card front about two thirds of the way down and to the right side. This card is intended for a male recipient so I didn’t feel any further embellishment was necessary. The gold card and ink add some shine without being over the top. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card. All the products used are linked below.
