Hi, here’s a bright and cheerful birthday card, with lots of colour. It is and easy card to make, once you have decided on the colours that you will use, and fiddled about with the layout of the flowers and leaves.
To Make The Card
Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it to 12.5cm x 17.5cm. Cut a piece of aqua card 6.5cm x 17.5cm and emboss with the Diamond Plaid embossing folder. Use 1mm deep foam tape to adhere the embossed panel to the left side of the card front. Make sure the foam tap is a few centimetres in from the right hand edge of the panel so that the stems of the flowers and leaves can be tucked under it.
Die cut a selection of flowers, leaves and leafy stems from a mixture of colours of card. I used two shades of turquoise plus aqua for the foliage and pinks and oranges for the flowers. Arrange the die cut flowers so that the ends of the stems are under the embossed panel and they overlap each other. Leave a small area empty about a third of the way down the card where the sentiment will go.
The sentiment is from a printed sheet. Cut it out from the sheet, then go around the edges with a black marker pen to cover up the white edges. Adhere the sentiment strip across the embossed panel and the card base. Use glue to adhere it to the embossed panel and a stack of two 1mm adhesive foam pads to adhere it to the card front to keep it level.
This is a very versatile card design, you could use any sentiment such as thank you or get well. You can change the colour scheme and you could use a different embossing folder for the panel. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card. All the products used are linked below.
