Hi, I have made a Christmas card with this Holly Spray clear stamp set for 3 years now. Each card is different, this is the 2022 version and this is the 2021 version. I think it works really well in this year’s version as a more vintage style card.
To Make The Card
Start with a piece of watercolour card stock cut to 10cm x 14cm. Smoosh some Antique Linen ink on a craft mat and spritz with a little water. Dip the four corners of the card in the ink and drag them through it to get rough coverage. Use a foam ink blending tool to ink all round the edge, and lightly across the centre of the card so there is no bright white left. Smoosh and spritz some Peeled Paint and apply lightly to random areas with a paintbrush. Allow it to blend with the already wet Antique Linen. Repeat that process with a very small amount of Faded Jeans. Use a paint brush to splatter some of each colour on to the card. Dry the card with a heat gun, then roughen the edges with a paper scruffer, and ink all around with Vintage Photo. Stamp the text in random areas of the card, mainly at the edges and corners. Cut a smaller piece of card approximately 5.5cm x 3.5cm and colour it the same way.
Stamp the holly spray in black ink across the centre of the card, colour it with alcohol markers. Scatter Embossing Sprinkles all over the card, and heat from below until they are melted. Tie a length of narrow gold ribbon around the bottom portion of the card and tie in a small bow. Stamp the sentiment on to the smaller piece of inked card then trim it down slightly and roughen the edges. Adhere the sentiment over the ribbon, next to the bow. Use thin foam pads so that it is lifted over the ribbon. Mount the panel on red card, then matt gold card. Trim a 5″ x 7″ white blank card to 11.5cm x 15.5cm and mount the whole thing on to it. Finally add some gold sequins around the holly spray.
I am very pleased with this card, although it is vintage style it is not too dark and the ribbon and sequins add just the right amount of sparkle. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too.
