Hi everyone, I made this card using one of the new dies from Sweet Dixie, as soon as I saw it I wanted to try it out. I love the way the holly leaves are cut out so it’s easy to add little pops of colour and shine to your card.
To Make the Card
Take a 5 x 7 inch white blank card and trim 1/2″ off the length, so you have a 5 x 6.5 inch card blank. Layer this with gold mirror card. Use a rectangle die to cut a piece of light green card to 11.5cm x 15.5cm, I used one with a decorative edge of little stripes. Die cut the holly leaves background from dark green card, then again from gold mirror card. Pop out all the pieces and save the holly leaves from both colours. Adhere the layers to the card base, with the die cut background on top. Take the gold holly leaves and glue them into the matching spaces. Stick red adhesive crystals where the berries are cut out.
Stamp the greeting in dark green ink onto a strip of the light green card, mount this on gold mirror card and adhere to the card front using thin foam pads to raise it up a little. I haven’t had time to do it yet but you can easily make a reverse version putting the dark green holly leaves into the gold background, two cards for the price of one!
Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card, all the supplies are linked below.
