Hi, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to do with this card, but I did know I wanted to paper piece the stocking so that it could be tartan. That’s where I started and added the rest as I went along.
To Make The Card
Start with a white A6 blank card and layer it with red card, then white card. I used hammered white card to add a bit of texture. Stamp the Christmas stocking three times in black, twice on white card and once on tartan paper. Cut out one of the white stockings completely, but trim off the ribbon part. Cut the stocking area out of the tartan paper and glue on to the white stocking. Cut the patch and heart from the other white stocking, colour them with marker pens and glue on to the tartan stocking. Cover the cuff area of the stocking with white Fluffy Stuff and heat until it puffs up to give the appearance of fur or knitted wool.
I cut the heart out of the second white stocking, smeared it with watermark ink and heat embossed it with gold powder. This was quite fiddly on such a small piece and with hindsight would have been a lot easier to just cut it from gold card as I did with the bow. Glue the heart in position on the cuff, once the Fluffy Stuff has cooled down.
Cut a strip of red card 10.25cm x 2cm, a strip of tartan 10.25cm x 1cm and a strip of gold 10.25cm x .5cm. Adhere them on top of one another to form a decorative strip, then adhere that across the card front about a third of the way down. Stamp one of each cookie with brown ink on Kraft card, and cut them out. Die cut two green pine branches and a gold bow. Adhere the stocking to the card front with foam pads to lift it, leave the top edge clear so that the cookies and foliage can be tucked under. Add glue to the bottom part of each cookie and the pine branches and position them so they are sticking out of the stocking top. Glue the bow to the top right corner of the stocking top. Trim the sentiment from a Wordies sheet, run round the edges with a black marker pen to get rid of the white and adhere across the stocking.
There are lots of different bits to this card and I used several different die sets as well as the stamp set, but you can add whatever foliage you have available and a real bow rather than a die cut one. Thanks for your visit, I hope you like the card. All the products used are linked below.
