Hi, I love this set of dies from Tim Holtz, the large words that they create are perfect for the centrepiece of a card with not much else needed. The set includes a background die for each word but on this card I wanted as much of the embossed background as possible to show so I didn’t use it.
To Make The Card
Start with a white 6″ x 6″ blank card, and trim it down slightly to 14.5cm square. This makes it easier to cut the other layers. Add a layer of matt gold card 14.3cm square and cut a piece of bright red card just under 14cm square. Emboss the red card with the Branches and Berries embossing folder, and adhere to the card front.
Die cut the word Noel from matt gold card, a sprig of holly from green card and a bow and berries from red card. Glue the berries on to the holly stem. Thread the holly stem through the “O” of the Noel so that the leaves are on top and the stem goes underneath and appears below the word. Glue the holly stem in position then glue the word and holly into the centre of the card. Finally glue the red bow at the bottom of the join between the “O” and “E”.
This is an easy card to make as you can see from the description, but with the bright red background and bold lettering it has a big impact. I would look good in lots of other colour combinations, and is a great time saver in the busy run up to Christmas. I hope you like it, all the products used are linked below. Thanks for your interest.
