Hi here’s a Christmas card that is a bit different. It is made using the Be Bold Colour Block Christmas die set, which cuts out all DL card blank so you need to make your own. The finished card will (just) fit into a DL sized envelope. I chose to use gold glitter card to really add to the impact of the large letters. This card will go to a lady with impaired vision to the big bold lettering should be ideal for her.
To Make The Card
Start by cutting a piece of white card 21.7cm x 18cm, score it down the middle lengthways and fold to make the card base. Cut the main Christmas letters from gold glitter card, pop the letters out of the card. You will notice that some of the letters have a slightly odd shape or have small notches on them, ignore these as they help to join the letters up when they are placed side by side. Glue the letters in position on the card base, they will just fit so be sure to start right at the edge and have each letter up against the next.
Cut the letters of the word Merry from bright red card and adhere them over the gold letters towards the bottom right hand area of the card. Cut a small, two layer poinsettia from the same red card and five red berries. Cut two pine branches, two holly leaves and a berry stem all from dark green card. Glue the two layers of poinsettia together, and the berries on to the stem. Arrange the flower and foliage slightly above and to the left of the red lettering, make sure all the stems are tucked under the flower. Finally add a gold self adhesive crystal to the centre of the poinsettia.
I think this card looks great, and there are so many ways you could use the die set, to have different coloured letters instead of all the same colour etc. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card. All the products used are linked below.
