Hi I made this card to try out the new Crafters Companion Ribbon Threading dies. This is a new concept (to me) so I was interested to see the results. My original thought was to use black and grey for it, but opted for black and beige for something a bit more unusual. The ribbon that I used is 10mm wide, but you could use ribbon up to 12mm.
To Make The Card
Start with a white A6 blank card, layer it with black card 14.5cm x 10.25cm and beige diamond grid paper 14cm x 9.75cm. Use all three dies to cut the ribbon threading strip out of beige card. Trim the strip at both ends to make it 14cm long and thread the black ribbon through the slots. Mount the ribbon strip on black card cut to 4cm x 14.5cm. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and glue them to the back of the black card, then glue the strip onto the card front approximately 2cm in from the left hand edge of the card.
Stamp the sentiment in black ink on white card and mount it on black card. Adhere in place overlapping the ribbon strip using glue for one end and 1mm adhesive foam pads at the other to keep it level.
The ribbon threading is very easy and as the strip can be shortened it makes it very versatile as it will fit many different sizes of card. It is also a good way to use up shorter lengths of ribbon. I hope you like it, thank you for visiting. All the products used are linked below.
