Hi, the mittens on this card are from the Woodware Mittens stamp set, which is so cute I had to give it a go as soon as it arrived in stock. I decided to go for a white and kraft colour scheme, with a few gold pearls for a bit of shine.

Hand made Christmas card with stamped mittens and die cut and embossed snowflakes

To Make The Card

Start with a white A6 blank card and trim it to 10.5cm x 14.5cm, die cut a stitched edge rectangle the same size and adhere to the card front. Take a piece of kraft card, cut it to 10cm wide, then tear the top and bottom edges to make it approximately 6cm high. Dry emboss this kraft panel with a snowflake embossing folder. Stamp the flourishes and snowflakes on the stitched rectangle twice. Once towards the top left corner of the card and once towards the bottom right, make sure the inner ends of the stamped flourishes will be hidden by the kraft panel. Smoosh some of the Frayed Burlap ink on a craft mat and spritz with water, pick some up on a paintbrush and splatter on the card front. Adhere the Kraft panel in place across the centre of the card.

Stamp each mitten on to white card, stamp a small heart on each one, then fussy cut them out. Add small adhesive gold pearl to the centre of each heart. Split a strand of paper cord and smooth it out, then adhere each end to a mitten. Use 1mm adhesive foam pads to adhere the mittens in place, so they overlap the top and bottom edge of the kraft panel. Die cut three small snowflakes from white card, and glue them to the kraft panel. Stamp the sentiment onto a strip of white card and trim the ends diagonally. Use 3mm foam tape to adhere the sentiment so that it will sit above the height of the mittens. Finish off with some more gold pearls above and below the kraft panel.

I’m happy with this card, I like the kraft and white colour scheme for a change from traditional Christmas colours and the little bit of shine from the gold pearls is just enough. Thank you for visiting I hope you like it too. All the products used are linked below.
