Hi, I really like the Card-io peg stamps as they are very easy to use and produce great results. Continuing my theme of cards for men I decided to use this beer themed set called Last Orders. I chose the background colours to co-ordinate with bottles and added in some orange to brighten it up. It occurred to me that if you left out the hops (the ones that look like pine cones) you could make a lovely autumnal background with these leaves and colours.
To Make The Card
Cut a piece of white card 13.5cm square. Lightly mark with a pencil where the oval shape will go, make sure to leave enough space at the bottom for the sentiment. Use the stamps on acrylic pegs to make the process easy and stamp a random design of leaves and hops around it. Stamp the leaves and hops in Vintage Photo, Frayed Burlap, Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade. Position the stamps in different directions, and use secondary stamping for a lighter colour. Use a foam ink blending tool to ink over the stamped area with Antique Linen Distress Oxide. Mount the stamped panel on a 14cm square piece of kraft card and adhere to the card front.
Die cut a large oval shape from kraft card and a slightly smaller one from white card. Use the chisel nib of a beige marker pen to draw a line for the shelf on the white oval shape. Stamp a row of beer bottles onto the line, mix the shapes and sizes of bottle. Use secondary stamping to create lighter ones and overlap some of them. Stamp a border of random leaves, in the same colours as the background around the white oval. Adhere the white oval onto the kraft oval and adhere to the card front,
Stamp the sentiment in Vintage Photo, on a strip of white card and mount it on kraft card. Adhere to the bottom right hand corner of the card with thin foam pads.
A great card with a beer theme, the sentiment could easily be swapped for a Fathers Day one instead. I hope you like it, all the products used are linked below. Thank you for visiting.
