Hi everyone, I saw this technique ages ago on either Pinterest or Youtube and have only just got round to trying it. I have to say I think it would be quite difficult without a stamp positioning tool. The bonus element to this is that you get to make two cards at once, mind you I haven’t finished colouring the other one yet!
To Make The Card
Start with an A6 white blank card and layer it with black card. Cut a piece of white card and a piece of kraft card both to 10cm x 14.25cm. Put the white card in the stamp positioning tool, for ease put it in a corner. Stamp with Petal Trio in black ink. Repeat the process with the kraft card, making sure you put it in the same position in the stamping platform. Cut each stamped piece diagonally from 3cm to 7cm. Match half of each piece of cut card and adhere them to the card front. Colour the flowers and leaves on the white card with marker pens. Smoosh some blue ink on a craft mat, spritz with water and use to “watercolour” the background around the flowers. Leave the kraft half uncoloured.
Smoosh black ink and spritz slightly, pick some up on a fine paint brush and spatter on to the card front across both halves. Stamp the greeting on black card and heat emboss in white. Cut this into a strip about 1cm wide, glue it across the card front over the join between the two stamped halves. Trim off the ends of the sentiment strip. Finish off by adding an assortment of adhesive pearls, enamel dots and metal dots, to co-ordinate with the flower colours.
I am very happy with this card, it’s such an unusual look but is not difficult to achieve. Thank you for calling in, I hope you like what you have seen. All supplies are linked below.
