Hi Everyone, I couldn’t resist having a go with this new slimline tartan background die as soon as it arrived. I am really pleased with the results and am sure it will be getting a lot more use in the future. The flower is actually from a Christmas die set but I left out the pine cone and used pink card and it works really well.
To Make the Card
Cut a piece of cream card stock to 20cm x 22.7cm, score and fold it to make a 10cm x 22.7cm card base. Cut another piece of cream card stock 9.5cm x 22.2cm, and adhere this to the base. Die cut the tartan background from gold card stock, use a fine tip applicator glue to adhere it to the card.
Cut the flower parts from three shades of pink card stock and glue them together. Use a darker pink topped with gold for the flower centre. Die cut both types of leaves, each in two shades of green and adhere the various parts together. Attach the flower to the card front using adhesive foam pads. Add glue to the stems of the leaves and slide them under the flower at the top and the bottom. Press them into place. Cut a thin strip of cream card and stamp the sentiment on it. Adhere the sentiment strip to the bottom area of the card, overlapping one of the leaf stems.
I am always pleased to find ways to get more value from Christmas products. I like the simple sentiment, which I think, finishes it off nicely. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too. All the products used are linked below.
