Hi Everyone, I wanted to make a Christmas card in non traditional colours, so I chose blue and silver. This gave me a chance to use some of the silver No Shed Glitter Card, to show how well it die cuts, even with a fairly intricate design.

I also stamped and heat embossed the glitter card for the greeting, to show that it is suitable for all these techniques. The Heavenly Bells die is an edger die which cuts half of the design into the card and half of it is cut out of the card.

To make the Card

Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and layer it with dark blue card. Cut a piece of silver glitter card approximately 11.5cm x 16.5cm. Die cut the glitter card with the Heavenly Bells die close to the right hand edge of the card. Adhere the silver card over the dark blue card.

Cut a strip of dark blue card approximately 1.2cm x 16.5cm and adhere this over the glitter card about 1.7cm in from the left hand edge. Cut a square of glitter card approx. 4cm and stamp Jingle Bells with clear embossing ink, then heat emboss in dark blue. Take care with the heat embossing not to get too close to the glitter card. Mount the stamped glitter card on dark blue card and adhere it over the blue strip. Add a silver bow beneath the greeting to finish it off.

The intricacy of the die cut bells shows up beautifully against the dark blue card. With so much glitter you don’t need much else in the way of decoration. I hope you like it, thank you for visiting.
