Hi Everyone, it is never nice to have to make sympathy cards, fortunately this one is for standby, not needed at present. Sadly with so many people succumbing to Coronavirus there will be a bigger than usual demand for sympathy cards. It can be tricky to find the right tone for this type of card, I hope I have got it right with this one.
To Make the Card
Start with a white A6 blank card, cut turquoise card to 10.5cm x 14.75cm which will cover the whole card front. Layer this with black card then white card.
Take a piece of watercolour card approximately 6cm x 12cm, ink this unevenly with Broken China Distress oxide ink, using a foam ink blending tool. Use a little Pine Needles ink to darken areas if desired. Spritz the inked card with water and dry with a heat gun. Play around with the ink and water until you are happy with the look.
Trim a strip off the inked panel, stamp the flower on the main panel and the greeting on the strip, with black ink. Mount both of these on black card. Adhere the flower panel to the card front towards the left side and the greeting slightly overlapping the bottom of the flower stems.
I am very pleased with the way this turned out, the stamped flower is very elegant, just right for a sympathy card. I hope you like it too, please leave a comment if you have a minute.
