Hi Everyone, here’s a card made using the fabulous Birch Press layering dies. I have made cards with these dies before but this is the first time I have used the Grace set. There are so many permutations of design and colour with this set that it can seem a bit daunting. One of the main things is to choose your colour scheme and decide in which order you want the colours to appear, that done is just a question of how many of the die cut shapes you want to use. For this card I have used all three layers of the main die, but only one layer each of the two circular shapes.
The Birch Press dies are made in the USA and as such are sized for American card and paper at 4.25 x 5.5inches. Start by making a card blank of that size or as I did cutting down a 5 x 7 inch cream blank card.
Die cut the three layers with layer C in dark blue, layer B in pink and layer A in cream card. Remove the circular parts of the die cut card and adhere the remaining die cut pieces together, then adhere them to the card front.
Use 1mm adhesive foam pads to adhere the Layer C, dark blue larger circle, in the space provided. Use two layers of 1mm adhesive foam pads to the pink, layer B, smaller circle, to set it slightly above the dark blue circle.
Cut a strip of cream card and stamp the Happy Birthday greeting in blue ink, trim the strip to the width of the larger circle and adhere across the centre of the circles with the card as a tent fold.
I like the colour scheme which is soft but not totally pastel, of course the greeting could say anything you want as the card would work for any occasion.
