Hi Everyone, here I am again playing with our new hot foil machine. Today’s card uses the Paisley Drop hot foil stamp, teamed with a paisley background from the Neroli paper pad. I love these colours with the silver foiling. I used a Thank You sentiment but it could just as easily be a birthday card.
Start with a 6 x 6 inch blank white card, matt it with plain turquoise then paisley patterned paper, cut a strip of white vellum 5.5cm high and the same width as the paisley paper, adhere that across the centre of the card.
Heat up the Go Press and Foil machine, put the Paisley Drop hot foil stamp in the machine to heat up too. Cut a piece of turquoise card and a piece of silver heat activated foil a bit bigger than the Paisley stamp. Lay the foil on top of the stamp with the coloured side facing down, then the card on top of that, add a couple of pieces of card to act as shims, close the lid of the machine and let the whole thing heat up for a minute or two. Slide the heating plate off the base and run the whole thing through your die cutting machine quite slowly, to give the foil chance to transfer. Peel away the excess foil and your design should be foiled and debossed on to the card.
Fussy cut the paisley shape leaving a small border of the turquoise card all the way round. Die cut an oval shape from orange card stock, big enough for the paisley shape to sit on. Adhere the paisley shape to the oval with double sided tape, then adhere the oval to the centre of the card over the vellum using foam pads.
Cut a thin strip of turquoise card and stamp the sentiment in watermark ink, then heat emboss with silver embossing powder, cut the ends of the strip of card into an arrow shape and adhere to the card as shown.
Finally add a silver metal gem to the pointed end of the sentiment strip and to the centres of sum of the flowers on the paisley background paper.
As I mentioned above this is a very versatile card which could be used for a variety of occasions and recipients. I really like the paisley hot foil design and the way it co-ordinates with the background paper. Hope you like it too, please leave a comment below to let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading
