Hi Everyone, another Christmas card with a vintage feel to it, I love the smiley Father Christmas image and the way the glitter on the fur of his suit makes it look like those old fashioned Christmas cards that we used to get when I was a child. You can download the image for free from the website, it is linked below.
Start with a cream A6 blank card, cut a piece of music paper to 7 x 14.5cm and a piece of Kraft Core card stock to 3.5 x 14.5cm. Ink the edges of the music sheet with Tea Dye distress ink, dry emboss the card stock then lightly sand it to reveal the Kraft core. Adhere both of these to the card blank, cut a 14.5cm piece of gold ribbon and glue this over the join between the two background pieces.
Print out the sheet of Father Christmas images, die cut one of them with an oval die, ink the edges. Die cut a piece of white card with an oval border die, ink the edges and add glitter with a clear Wink of Stella pen (sorry the glitter on the frame doesn’t show up in the photo). Adhere the Father Christmas image to the centre of the oval frame and adhere the whole thing to the centre of the card front. Use the Quickie glue pen to add glitter to the fur areas of Santa’s suit, the snow on the ground and the Christmas tree and wreath.
Make a bow with green organza ribbon, adhere to the top left area of the oval frame, adhere a vintage style jewel to the centre of the bow.
Stamp the greeting onto white card, trim to a small rectangle, ink the edges and attach to the card with 1mm foam pads. Die cut a piece of holly from green card, use a quickie glue pen to adhere it to the greeting. Colour 3mm natural pearls with a gold Sharpie pen and fix them in a cluster onto the holly.
I love the whole vintage feel to this card and the subtle glitter that just gives it a lift. Thank you for reading, I hope you like it too. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.
