Hi Everyone, continuing with our new range of shaker domes I have used the star shaped one for this card. I don’t usually make children’s cards but the lovely 25mm peel off numbers have been crying out to me to be used ever since we got them in stock so this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
We have a giveaway going on – leave a comment on this post to let me know what you think of the card and you could win the Nested Stars die cutting set and a pack of the Star Shaped Shaker Domes.
The winner will be announced on this blog and on our Facebook page on Friday 20th December. Good luck !!
I started with a white 12.5cm square blank card and layered that with pink card. I cut a piece of spotted paper to 11.5cm square and die cut a star shape from the middle.
Using the next smaller size of star die I cut one in off-white and stuck a pink number 8 peel off in the centre, I positioned the spotted paper on the card and used the star shape hole to help me position the smaller star with the number on and stuck that in place.
I then die cut different sizes of small stars, from blue, pink and green card that matches the blue, pink and green spots on the paper, I also cut some from silver mirror card to add a bit of shine. I grouped three of the stars near to the peel off number and glued them in place and left the rest loose to be the shaker pieces.
I laid the spotted paper over the star shaped shaker dome and again positioned it on the card, then lifted the paper off and made pencil marks to show where the shaker dome should go. I put glue around the rim of the shaker dome and stuck it down with the small stars inside. Once the glue had dried I used double sided tape to fix the spotted paper in place over the shaker dome.
The last thing was to add a silver peel off Happy Birthday, mounted on a strip of pink card, across the top left corner.
I’m very happy with this card, I love the color scheme and of course the shaker effect of the stars. I hope you like it too, please leave a comment to let me know what you think.
Thanks
