Hi Everyone, as I have been showing cards made using our new shaker dome shapes with matching die cutters, I wanted to make one using our original round shaker dome for which we also have a matching circle die cutter and now have this lovely Here Comes Santa die that makes a background for your shaker dome.
I used a 15cm square white card base for this one as I wanted enough space around the shaker dome to add the snowflakes and greeting.
The Here Comes Santa die set contains two dies one is a plain circle and the other cuts the picture and writing, so if you use them both together you get a circle with the picture inside, I cut that from white card and also used the circle die to cut red card to go behind it. I used a Quickie glue pen to put glue on the intricate die cut design and attach it to the red circle.
I cut a square or red card slightly smaller than the card blank and used a die from our Circle Frames die set to cut out a circle in the centre of it. I used this as a guide to position the red and white centerpiece and used double sided tape to adhere that to the card blank.
I put the round shaker dome over the centerpiece and placed the square of red card over it to again use it as a guide to the position of the shaker dome, I held the shaker dome in place, lifted off the red card and marked the position of the shaker dome with a pencil. I tipped a small pile of Soft Snowdrift Chunky Glitter on to the centerpiece, put glue around the rim of the shaker dome and adhered it to the card.
Whilst I was waiting for the glue on the shaker dome to dry I decorated the red card with peel off snowflakes and used two of the circle frame dies together to cut a frame from red card. Once the shaker dome glue was dry I adhered the red card over the top of it and the red circle frame on top of that.
The final part is the greeting I stamped this in white ink onto a strip of red card and then heat embossed it with opaque white embossing powder to give it the same glossy finish as the peel off snowflakes. I added a couple of tiny peel off snowflakes to it, mounted it on a piece of white card and attached it to the card front using adhesive foam pads.
I am really pleased with this card, I love the red and white colors and the whole snowy theme! Hope you like it too and would love to hear your comments.
Thanks for visiting.
