Hi Everyone, the birth flowers for the month of September are Aster and Morning Glory, when I looked for Morning Glory craft supplies I drew a blank, so have made three Aster cards,  I used different supplies and techniques for the cards to create some variety, I hope you like what I have come up with.

For my first card I used an Aster print which comes from a sheet of 6, that you can cut out however you want. The color and style of the print has a bit of an antique or vintage feel to it so I used that as the basis for the design.

I started with a piece of white card cut slightly smaller than A6, scruffed up the edges, inked them with Tea Dye distress ink and layered this on to an A6 blank card.
Also from white card I die cut the largest shape from the Majestic Labels 2 die set and inked the edges of this with Tea Dye distress ink too.
I die cut one of the Aster pictures from the sheet using a Decorative Rectangle die, inked the edges with Violet pigment ink and stuck this on top of the die cut label. Then I tied a length of purple organza ribbon around the two die cut layers, tied it in a bow and stuck the whole thing on top of the card layers.
I used a copper colored Sharpie pen to color some 5mm adhesive pearls and stuck them around the die cut layer as shown.
Finally for the birthday greeting I die cut two tiny tags, inked the edges and stamped the greeting with Tea Dye distress ink and tucked them up under the bow and glued them in place.
Materials used:
For my second card I used some of the Mulberry Paper flowers that we recently added to our stock and a couple of sheets from the new Sweet Nothings paper pad. I love the peach and turquoise color combination and I think the gold foil sets it all off perfectly.
I trimmed a piece of turquoise card from the Sweet Nothings pad to be slightly smaller than the square blank card, then cut a corner piece from the peach colored card using a border die to create the shaped, decorative edge and attached this to the bottom left hand corner of the card.
I die cut flourishes from gold mirror card and attached these and the paper flowers in the bottom left corner too.
The greeting is from a sheet of gold foiled greetings on white card which are die cut and pop out of the sheet. Sometimes when you pop them out little notches of card remain on the shape, you can smooth these out with a fine sanding block. I inked the whole greeting with Tattered Rose distress ink to soften the white background and added a small turquoise bow.
Materials used:
The third card uses an Aster stamp and cut set and some fussy cut plant pots from our collection of free downloads.

The brick wall background was stamped onto cream card using Tea Dye distress ink and trimmed to fit onto a square white card blank.

The flower and butterfly were stamped onto white card, die cut and colored with marker pens. The two plant pots were fussy cut from a download sheet, the bigger pot was attached using foam pads to raise it up from the card and positioned over the bottom part of the Aster plant. The second, smaller pot was also attached with foam pads and positioned on it’s side and slightly overlapping the larger pot.

The greeting was stamped with Violet pigment ink.

  1. Three gorgeous cards, Deb, but I think the first is my favourite. I like the simple flower image, die cuts and beautiful bow.
