Hi Everyone this is my third and last Mothers Day card for this year. I have several original photos of my great grandparents and other family and have been thinking about using them in cards for a while. This photo is of my great grandmother taken about 1910 we think, I was happy to use it on a card for my own mum.
I started with a square white card blank and inked around the edges with Old Paper distress ink. I cut a piece of cream card to slightly smaller than the card blank, distressed the edges with a paper scruffer, inked them with a Vintage Sepia ink pad and adhered it to the card base. I added a strip of crochet lace to one side as shown.
I scanned the photo and printed it out to keep the original safe! I cut out the photo and inked the edges with Vintage Sepia and mounted this on a piece of cream card also inked with Vintage Sepia. I cut another rectangle of cream card scruffed the edges, inked them with Tea Dye distress ink and adhered it at an angle overlapping the lace and then angled the photo on top of that.
The greeting is stamped in Vintage Sepia on cream card with inked edges which is mounted on a rectangle of cream card scruffed and inked with Tea Dye ink.
Finally I added paper roses, a pearl flourish border, a gold satin ribbon and some individual adhesive pearls to decorate.
I am really pleased with the result and hope you like it too. Please leave your comments to let me know.
