Here’s the first birthday card that I have made for a while, having been busy with Christmas and Valentines cards. I wanted to try a Z fold card for something a bit different and have been waiting for an opportunity to use the lovely Neroli paper pad.
For the card base I used a white 15 x 15cm card blank, scored down the centre of the front panel and folded it back on itself to create the Z shape.
I covered both the narrow front panel and the larger inside panel with turquoise card and layered that with a patterned paper from the Neroli pad with a lovely bold, bright design.
I die cut four decorative rectangles, two larger ones in orange card and two smaller ones in cream card I inked the edges of the cream ones with Terra Cotta pigment ink. I layered the cream die cut shapes onto the orange ones and then positioned one on the inside panel and the other on the front panel, lining it up with the one inside so that when the card is closed they are on top of each other.
I die cut two flourishes from gold card and attached these to the front panel as in the photo and then added three dark red flowers with the stems twisted into spirals. The last thing was to add the gold Happy Birthday peel off and gold metal gems to the corners.
I love the color scheme of this card and the unusual z fold base, I hope you like it too, feel free to leave your comments.

Hi Deb this is such a lovely cheery card. The colours from the pad are lovely and it looks great how you've included the red to make the card pop.x
Thanks Carol, I love these rich colors too!
