Here’s my “host of golden daffodils” to celebrate March birthdays.
These daffodils are made using six quilled marquise shapes in yellow 3mm quilling paper, with a tightly coiled centre in a darker shade of yellow, the leaves are just folded strips of green quilling paper.
The daffodils are mounted on a white card frame made using the Marianne Frame and Swirls set. The sentiment is a Gold Small Text peel off mounted on a shape cut using a die from the Marianne Tags and Ticket set, it is decorated with self adhesive pearls.
The sentiment and flowers are both mounted on pink card embossed with the Swirls Embossing Folder and the Yellow Stripes design background paper is the free to download.
To begin with I layered just the white card using some double sided tape to keep it in position. I stamped the daffodils and leaves from the top left corner down across the three layers of card.
Another daffodil card this time made using a
Daffodil die cutting set. I cut the main daffodil die twice, once in green and once in yellow and cut the flower heads off the yellow one and glued them over the green ones. I used a marker pen to add some shading to the flower heads, leaves and stems. I also used a
Clear Wink of Stella pen to add some subtle glitter to the flower heads which doesn’t really show up in the photo. I left some of the leaves partially unglued allowing them to curl up and add a little dimension to the card.
I hope you like them, thanks for looking in.

Hi Deb, daffodils and spring, let's hope it's not too far away. I don't like winter I'm afraid. Lovely cards thank you for sharing these to brighten up the mood on such a cold day. X
Hi Carol, It feels as though it's a little way off yet, we will have to make do with paper daffodils until the real ones appear. Thank you for your kind comments, glad you like the cards. x

What lovely cards, with the promise of Spring in the designs. How refreshing, after the long Winter months. Inspiring me to sort out my pastel cardstock in preparation for the season ahead. I think the second card is my choice. Thank you for sharing. xx
All the cards are pretty, but the 2nd one stands out. The layering technique is really beautiful, the colors are calm and serene and butterfly is just the perfect embellishment on it!
