Hi I am excited to be showing the first card that I made with our new own brand shaker domes and also my first Christmas card for this year!
Shaker domes are great for Christmas cards as they give the appearance of snow globes and there are a lot of things that you can use to create a snowy effect inside your dome.
I used a 15cm sq card blank and cut out some triangle shapes from plain and patterned paper, small ones for inside the dome and larger ones for outside. I used white sequins inside the dome to look like snow and glued a few into position beside the trees so that there would always be snow in the sky.
I die cut a piece of background paper and glued the small trees and some sequins to it then piled the loose sequins on top, I added a few dabs of glue around the rim of the shaker dome and then positioned it over the background and the little pile of sequins.
I used two layers of foam pads under the patterned paper to raise it to the level of the top of the shaker dome, so that the large trees outside the dome can overlap both the dome and the patterned paper and lay flat. I used red sequins for the tops of the trees and to decorate the patterned paper. The greeting is stamped directly on to the card blank below the patterned paper.
