Hi Everyone, last year I really wanted to get a good poinsettia die cutter in stock but couldn’t find one I really liked and that I thought would enable me to create the flowers that I had in mind. This year I have been luckier and found this lovely die set from Poppy Stamps, just what I was looking for!
I couldn’t wait to get started and made a whole bunch of flowers in different colors and materials with different decorations.
Then I started making them into Christmas cards!
Here’s the first one.
I went for a simple white on white look with a few bits of red (couldn’t quite do the whole white on white thing).
I used an embossing folder to add texture to the top half of the card and die cut stitch lines into a strip of card to cover the join between the smooth and the embossed card. For the poinsettia I cut two of the largest petal sets and one each of the smaller ones. I rolled the petals a little with a bamboo skewer to get them to bend a little and give the flower more shape and dimension. Little red pearls make the stamens in the flower and the berries on the holly.
Hope you like it, I will be posting more cards made with poinsettia’s so if you like this one why not follow us to see the rest.
